About the program

The ReMade in Australia program is set to be a sustainability certification for businesses, serving as a mark for products and construction projects made with recycled content right here in Australia.

A certification for businesses

Businesses seeking certification for their products or projects must meet specific criteria. These rules will be made available soon.

Certified ReMade in Australia products and projects will feature an identifiable label.

This means that:

  • Businesses committed to more sustainable design and manufacturing practices will soon be able to certify their products made with recycled content to help them stand out from the crowd
  • Australian shoppers will be able to look out for the ReMade in Australia label, which will make products made with recycled materials easier to see
  • Valuable resources are diverted from going to landfills, promoting resource circularity in the Australian economy

The aim is to keep recyclable materials out of landfill and recover valuable resources that would otherwise be lost.

Businesses will soon have the opportunity to apply for the program, where they will undergo a thorough certification process.

Aims of the certification program

The ReMade in Australia program is part of Australia’s commitment to collaborating with the private sector to move towards a circular economy by 2030. This work includes:

Finding ways to use recycled content in Australian products and projects is an important step in the journey

The aim of the ReMade in Australia program is to support businesses committed to more sustainable design and manufacturing practices.

Once certified to use the ReMade in Australia label, businesses with eligible products can showcase their products made with recycled materials, helping them stand out from the crowd.

As more businesses use recycled materials, we can foster a growing market in Australia and build greater demand for products with recycled content.
